A gym gag borrowed from one of strength sports' biggest names, and the comments turned it into a contest of who could joke about their warm-up weights.

POV: Someone Drops Larry Wheel's Dumbell 🤣 #dumbell #deadlift

Eight hours online, and the newest short on Tyson Ridenour's channel had already passed 46,000 views. His shorts usually close out their whole first day with a few thousand.

The premise sits right in the title: "POV: Someone Drops Larry Wheel's Dumbell 🤣". Larry Wheels is the strength athlete who has competed in powerlifting, bodybuilding and arm wrestling, and whose name alone tells a gym crowd the weight is not a light one. Viewers ran with the joke. Several pretend the dumbbell is close to their own warm-up, one imagines someone using it for lateral raises, and another argues that the trouble with an oversized dumbbell is the awkward grip as much as the load.

Ridenour's own feed has been nothing but deadlifts lately. There is "Lifting My First 1,000LB Deadlift At 21 Years Old", there is "The Fastest 1,000LB Deadlift In History?" (his question mark), and there is "Can Anatoly Lift My 480KG Deadlift?", a nod to Vladimir Shmondenko, the Ukrainian powerlifter whose gym pranks in a cleaner's disguise made him famous as Anatoly. The broom emoji in that title is the giveaway.

This short is the first in that run to put another lifter's name on the weight itself, and it went further than most of them in a single morning. Of the deadlift shorts from the days before, only the speed question has drawn more, and it had nearly a week's head start.
