Sidewalk Specials took in a dog whose owners wanted him put down after they got a younger one, and viewers keep coming back to one point: six is not old.

Finn spent all six years of his life chained outside. Then his owners brought home a younger dog and asked to have him put down, calling him, in the description's words, "old and aggressive."
The rescue Sidewalk Specials took him instead, and the short follows what Rachael found: an affectionate dog she could hardly believe had lived his whole life on a chain. Dodo producer Valentina tells how Finn went on to a family that already had a familiar-looking Sidewalk Specials alum at home.
The short drew an ordinary crowd for The Dodo, but not an ordinary conversation. In its first day it gathered close to 1,600 comments, more than thirteen times what a new short here usually collects. The most repeated point is the age on the title: plenty of viewers stop at the word "old" and answer that six is nothing for a dog. Others write about adopting dogs who came from neglect, thank the rescuers by name, or point out Finn snoring as if he had just finished a long shift. A few turn their worry to the younger dog that stayed behind.
Valentina has had a busy few days on the channel. She also hosted a pair of serval kittens recovering after a field fire, and a bunny named Johnny Cucumber who got his legs back, and his name, from a random food-pack card.
