Attacked While Sitting on the Toilet?! joins the Bloop at the top of Wild Times
Ten uploads went up, from a 20-foot Amazon snake to a de-extinction debate, and the whole channel ran well above its usual daily pace.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Attacked While Sitting on the Toilet?!
Ten uploads went up on Wild Times Podcast over the seven days, and two of them are carrying almost everything. The first is episode 212, the Bloop one, which we wrote about here yesterday. It has kept going and is closing in on 60,000 views.
The second is a newcomer. "Attacked While Sitting on the Toilet?!" is a single day old, and it is already picking up views almost as quickly as the full episode. Its tags point to a lion and a fatal attack, a grim premise behind a title that sounds like a joke.
The rest of the week was the usual Forrest Galante mix of short cuts: a sperm whale piece billed as superpowers, a "UFO bird", a 20-foot snake in the Amazon and a clip about the closest Galante has come to death. The newest, "Should We Bring These Animals Back From Extinction?", is starting faster than most of them. That is a natural question for a biologist who has spent his career looking for animals thought to be gone.
Under the main episode, viewers are still sharing runaway tortoise stories, and one remembers a pet that turned up months later, nearly twice its size. Others have their own theories about the Bloop: an icequake, or air escaping from ice. Several thank whoever added chapter markers to the episodes.
The subscriber count held steady. Views ran well above the channel's normal day, at close to 83,000 against a usual 49,000. Among pets and animals channels of a similar size, the shorts-heavy ones like Tail Talks and Catzooka pull far bigger daily crowds. Wild Times sits fourth by subscribers but last by views gained, the steady pace of a long-form podcast in a group built on quick clips.

The comments under "Scientists Heard Something in the Deep Ocean They Still Can't Agree On"
For the tortoise, I had my young sulcata tortoise in Florida disappear from our outdoor enclosure. After weeks of looking I accepted that something must’ve taken her. I moved away and 6 months later my parents who still lived at that house sent me a picture of her now nearly twice as big.
