Manhunt continues for escaped TN murderer
A change of clothes or evidence of a break-in could matter to the search for escaped Tennessee prisoner Jacob Allen Morley. In WKRN News 2's latest update, retired FBI agent Rich Kolko explains why tips from residents can help investigators looking beyond the prison gates.
Reporter Maggie Weaver says the reward has risen to $17,500. Morley, who was serving a life sentence for a 2022 murder, escaped Northwest Correctional Complex on Sunday night. A stolen truck was subsequently recovered in Illinois.
The report shows security footage of the escape through the prison fence. Kolko focuses on what might come afterward: discarded prison clothing, replacement clothes and signs that someone has entered a home. "If they see a house break-in, that's a critical tip," he says.
The update drew about 70,000 views in its first 17 hours, far beyond the station's usual first-day audience for a Short. Its comment section was also much busier than usual, though speculation there does not establish where Morley is or what he has done since escaping.
Weaver closes with the practical warning from police: anyone who sees Morley should not approach him.
A state prison in Tiptonville, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Department of Correction. It can hold 1,776 male inmates at security levels ranging from minimum to close.
