Manhunt for escaped convicted killer continues
What happens if an escaped prisoner stops at an ordinary neighborhood store? That possibility concerns a local resident in WKRN News 2's update on the search for convicted killer Jacob Allen Morley.
Speaking on camera, the resident considers what might have happened had Morley encountered people inside a store. Reporter Elisheva Wimberly puts those concerns alongside the search: Morley escaped Tennessee's Northwest Correctional Complex on Sunday night by breaching a perimeter fence while wearing his prison uniform, she reports.
The Short drew about 52,000 views in its first day, roughly fifty times the station's usual first-day audience for that format. Following earlier coverage of the escape and the recovery of a pickup in Illinois, this update includes the perspective of someone living near the route described in the report.
Wimberly says the truck was abandoned in Marion, Illinois, and that Morley remained at large as the search approached its fourth day. The segment closes with an instruction for anyone who sees him: call 911.
A state prison in Tiptonville, Tennessee, operated by the Tennessee Department of Correction. It can hold 1,776 male inmates at security levels ranging from minimum to close.
