Stuart McGill's Big 3 and a 400-pound squat that didn't fix a back

Aaron Horschig's longest new video walks through three endurance tests for the spine, among fifteen uploads that also took on rounded shoulders and core myths.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Being strong and having a resilient back are not the same thing, and Aaron Horschig says he learned that the hard way. In "I Squatted 400 lbs and Still Had Back Pain — Here's the 3 Tests That Found Why," the physical therapist behind Squat University describes years of recurring back trouble despite plenty of strength. What finally made sense of it, the description explains, were Stuart McGill's studies showing that many people with back pain lack endurance in the core and back muscles, and that the gap lingers after the pain fades.

The video is built like a short lecture: why strength isn't enough, three tests for core endurance, how to spot imbalances, and finally the McGill Big 3 routine. Peer-reviewed references sit in the description, which is very much the house style. It passed 380,000 views in its first few days.

The shorts, as usual, did the heavier lifting. Fifteen uploads went up, and two of them carry most of the momentum. "She REFUSED To Have Rounded Shoulders!" has passed half a million views in two days. "The TRUTH About Your Core Workout!" is gathering views even faster, at well over a hundred thousand a day. A day-old explainer on long and short torsos is already moving quickly too, a fitting subject for a channel whose name comes from the squat.

Among fitness channels of a similar size, Jesse James West and Chris Heria are both running well above their usual pace, and Chris Bumstead is close behind them. Horschig's week is spread across many small lessons rather than one big moment, with the 400-pound story as its anchor.
