A $4.95 mop and a Golden Corral leaderboard: Larry the Cable Guy's Remain Seated takes over Laugh Society

The clips channel streamed the full special from the Rialto Square Theatre, then cut it into shorts about Walmart, doctors and buffets, before Kathleen Madigan went cruising.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the stand-up channels nearest its size, Laugh Society gathered the second most views of the week, close to five million, behind only Gianmarco Soresi. It got there without being a comedian at all: Laugh Society is a clips channel that works with Comedy Dynamics and 800 Pound Gorilla, and its week belonged to other people's specials.

Mostly to Larry the Cable Guy. The channel streamed his full special Remain Seated, filmed at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet, Illinois, then sliced it into shorts. In one, his wife needs a $4.95 mop and the Walmart cashier offers a protection plan on it. In another he wants a scoring system and a leaderboard for Golden Corral trips, with a warning for anyone thinking of proposing there. The busiest of the Larry clips is the one about a buddy's doctor, who Larry would rather see arrive in a new Mercedes than a '78 Plymouth. Under the livestream, one viewer wonders how old the special is.

Then, on Saturday, Kathleen Madigan went to sea. Her short about Wisconsin cruisers who tape balloons to their cabin door because, as she tells it, they get too hammered to find the right room is the channel's quickest mover right now, with a snorkel trip haggled down to 15 bucks in a Mexican alley close behind.

The pace is softer than usual, though, and subscribers held where they were. Fifteen uploads went up, and the newest ones are the ones doing the work.
