Every V12 Lamborghini from Miura to Revuelto, and a Countach driven flat out
Carwow lined up six generations of Lamborghini's twelve-cylinder cars, and the comments keep thanking the one owner who didn't treat his classic as a museum piece.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 967,221 views a day, 11 times a normal first day on this channel (86,306).
Lambo Miura v Countach v Diablo v Murcielago v Aventador v Revuelto DRAG RACE
Six Lamborghinis, one start line. Carwow's newest drag race brings together every Lamborghini built around a V12, from a Miura P400 SV to the plug-in hybrid Revuelto. In twenty hours it drew close to 900,000 views, on a channel where a new video usually ends its first day well short of 100,000.
The spread between the cars is the whole idea. At one end sits the Miura, a light coupe with a five-speed manual and under 400 horsepower. At the other is the Revuelto, which pairs its 6.5-litre V12 with three electric motors for more than a thousand horsepower, and carries a good deal more weight. In between come the Countach 5000S, the Diablo, the Murcielago LP640 and the Aventador SV. The description frames it as a lesson in how Lamborghini has changed, and asks whether the new car will simply walk it.
The comment section has picked its hero, and it isn't the most powerful car. Viewer after viewer thanks the Countach owner for launching his car hard, something many say they never get to see from a car usually kept wrapped in cotton wool. Several say the Countach put the Cannonball Run in their heads, fittingly, since Burt Reynolds' 1981 comedy opens with a black Countach outrunning the police. Others argue the Miura belongs in an art museum, and a few wanted a Diablo against a Murcielago.
The most liked comment asks only where the tractors are. It is a nod to the company's roots: Ferruccio Lamborghini built tractors before he founded his car company in 1963.
It has been a strong stretch for Mat Watson's channel. His first look at the new BMW 3 Series has passed two and a half million views, and in less than a day the Lamborghini race has caught up with a Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser off-road test from earlier in the week. The other race carwow posted the same day, a tuned BMW 435d against an M4 Competition, is still in the tens of thousands.
