LIVE: Uncle On Trial For Murder — NC v. David Prevatte — Day 5
Day five brought new testimony. In the North Carolina trial of David Prevatte, charged with first-degree murder and multiple sex offenses in the 2017 death of his five-year-old niece, a forensic interviewer took the stand. She testified about her interviews with the girl's older sister, who was seven at the time and was in the house that night.
A related clip from the same day describes that testimony. In a first interview, the sister spoke about waking to find something wrong with her younger sister and going to her grandparents for help. In a January 2018 follow-up, she did not identify anyone. Investigators came back to interview her again in 2022, the year Prevatte was arrested after a years-long investigation.
The full live stream gathered about 140,000 views in its first seven hours. A long stream on this channel usually draws around five thousand in an entire first day. The comments also arrived at roughly three times the usual first-day pace, and much of the discussion follows the day's testimony.
It was not the channel's only courtroom that day. Day two of the civil trial brought by Lakeeta Hill against former Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill, whose attorney has called her domestic violence allegations false, drew about half as many viewers. The first day of a murder trial over the 2012 killing of UNC-Chapel Hill student Faith Hedgepeth also opened on the channel. The Prevatte case, now in its fifth day, drew the largest audience of the three.

The day five stream ran far ahead of what a long live broadcast usually draws on this channel, even beside two other busy trials.
