iShowSpeed's First Day In GTA 5 RP..
iShowSpeed has joined Grand Theft Auto V roleplay as the new arrival in town, and Live Speedy's upload of that first session is carrying the channel. "iShowSpeed's First Day In GTA 5 RP.." passed 290,000 views in a little over a day. The channel's videos usually end their first day closer to 30,000.
GTA RP is the game played as improv theater. Players log into private servers, build characters and stay in them, and admins keep the rules. That is a natural stage for a streamer whose fame rests on reacting loudly and instantly to whatever is in front of him.
Under the video, though, the name that keeps coming up is not Speed's. It is Vasquez, a player the comments praise again and again for being straight with the newcomer, and several credit him for not leaning on his admin powers. Viewers also bring up a British character who made them laugh, and a Polish gang that one viewer thinks could have walked out of the game's original story mode. A moment around the 17-minute mark gets hailed as Speed at his old best. Others joke about him chatting with characters who sound computer-voiced, and many want a second session with Vasquez and his crew.
The week's other uploads are short stream moments: a ride down the Dude Perfect slide with Slipz, a bowling strike, a KFC bucket riding on whether Jamal can bench 225 pounds. They sit in the low thousands, and the channel as a whole is running well below its usual daily pace. For now, the long roleplay stream is doing the work.
