'Life comes at you fast': an old Scump clip, and HECZ's viewers count the years

The throwback Short from OpTic's founder has its comment section turning a decade-old joke into talk of how much has changed for the team's former star.

An old clip, a new punchline. HECZ, the channel of OpTic founder Hector Rodriguez, posted a throwback Short of Seth "Scump" Abner titled "Life comes at you fast," and within 12 hours it had about 30,000 views. A Short here usually ends its whole first day at around a sixth of that.

The title does the teasing, and the comments fill in the rest. From what viewers write, the clip catches a younger Scump firmly on one side of a question that life has since answered the other way. Many of them read it as a joke about growing up: several congratulate him, one notes that the old OpTic crew are now parents themselves, and another admits to rewatching ten-year-old team videos and marveling at how quickly the decade went. The comments came in about three times faster than on a usual first day, and that was only half a day in.

Scump has carried most of the channel's week. "He's A Natural" and "Scump wants to see the science" went up alongside it, as did Rodriguez's own note that since getting OpTic back he hasn't taken a single day for granted. That theme suits a clip about time running faster than anyone planned.

The channel as a whole is a little quieter than usual and still sits just short of a million subscribers. This throwback is the one moving.
