Takomo's first putters go on Rick Shiels' green, and viewers debate the price
The direct-to-consumer brand's new flatsticks remind many in the comments of putters they grew up with, from an old Odyssey Rossie to the Zebra.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 131,429 views a day, 9.9 times a normal first day on this channel (13,290).
I Test Takomo's NEW Putters
Rick Shiels puts Takomo's new putters through his usual testing in "I Test Takomo's NEW Putters," the latest review on H.I.T Golf, his equipment channel. It came close to 100,000 views in its first 14 hours, where a regular upload here usually ends its whole first day with a little over 13,000.
Takomo built its name selling clubs online at prices well under the big brands, so a putter line was always going to be judged partly on value. That is where much of the comment section went. The most liked reply asks why anyone would pay this much for a putter they cannot try in a shop, when cheaper models from Wilson or Cleveland are on the shelf. Others answer that premium brands charge far more.
The looks drew a different kind of talk. Viewers keep matching the heads to clubs they remember: a black mallet that brings back the Zebra, a shape like Odyssey's White Hot Rossie, a mallet compared with a Mizuno. Several enjoyed Rick's reaction to the white line on the model called the M1.
The review follows his test of the PuttView green-reading app a few days earlier, so putting has had a good run on the channel. Many viewers are already asking for the next step: a full round played with nothing but Takomo clubs in the bag.

@johndickson5480See it on YouTubeFor $200 I dont know why you wouldnt get a Wilson or Cleveland putter that you can actually try out in person. I feel like they missed the mark on the price.
