Freeskating to class: JMK's ten-day-old campus ride passes 800,000
Four new street shorts went up around it, each built on a friendly stranger, from a biker to a quick-learning kid.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Can I freeskate to class? 🛹
On a usual day JMK Freeskates draws around a million views; right now it is running at roughly two thirds of that. That is still a lot of people watching two small plates and no deck.
Most of them are watching "Can I freeskate to class? 🛹", which went up ten days ago and has passed 820,000 views. It is the channel's busiest video by a distance, and it is doing most of the week's work.
The four new shorts all come from the same place the about page describes: cruising around and sharing the hobby with strangers along the way. There is "Such a nice lady! 🛹", "This kid learns fast! 🛹", which had the strongest first day of the batch, and "This biker was so nice! 🚴♀️". The one gathering speed now is "“You guys are awesome!” 🛹", whose title is a passerby's compliment.
Its comments read like a freeskating meetup. Viewers are glad to see Jeff riding again, and one says they especially like his long strides. A longtime Ripstick rider says they want to try it. Another admits that the chats with strangers are half the reason they freeskate at all, and someone half expected a fourth rider to roll in, the one who invented the things.
Among the sports channels closest to its size, the big weeks belong to World Poker Tour and Lambros. TNT Sports and SailGP are running far below their usual pace, and JMK sits in between, carried by one ride to class.
