Paul Smith asks 'Why Are You Late?' at Hot Water Comedy Club

The Liverpool club put up fifteen videos, most of them Paul Smith crowd work, and a Green Room episode with Callum Oakley filling in for Tony.

Four days old, "Why Are You Late? | Paul Smith LIVE at Hot Water Comedy Club" is the clip doing the most work on the Liverpool club's channel, past 27,000 views and still the quickest mover of anything it has. Paul Smith, the Scouse comedian whose crowd work built much of this channel, fills most of the week's fifteen uploads: a porter called Corey, a compliment about a watch, a man called JP, and, newest of all, "The Guide Dogs and Cathy", which went up a day ago and is already close behind the leader on pace.

The comments under the late-arrival clip are few, but one of them is a gentle correction: not everyone who works on an ambulance is a paramedic, a viewer points out, naming the support workers who are something else.

Rob Thomas got a turn on padel, and the Green Room had a stand-in. Episode 251, hosted by Jamie Hutchinson, went ahead without regular Tony, and the description says Callum Oakley stepped in, with Jamie getting "extra silly" as he apparently does whenever Callum is around.

The channel as a whole ran slower than usual, at roughly two thirds of its normal daily views, though it still added more than four million over the seven days. Among stand-up channels near its size, that was the third-biggest haul, behind Mario Adrion's very large week and Denny Love's steady one.
