Ricky Gervais defends gravity, and the comments side with Karl
Universal Comedy's clip of the Newton argument passed 110,000 views in under a week, and a newer Gervais upload on religion followed it.

Ricky Gervais defends gravity....
"Ricky Gervais defends gravity...." is the week's biggest new clip on Universal Comedy, the channel that cuts favorite moments from Universal's comedy catalog. It passed 110,000 views in under a week. The comment section makes clear who the real draw is: Karl Pilkington, Gervais's longtime foil, apparently unconvinced that Isaac Newton deserves the credit. Viewers keep announcing they are with Karl, quoting a favorite line about Jesus, and arguing in long threads over whether Newton discovered gravity or only described it. Several point to the radio show where the conversation first played out.
Gervais filled most of the week. His religion clip went up on Monday, and two days in it is gathering views faster than anything else on the channel. A short set of weird animal stories came and went quietly. Sarah Millican added a change of voice, talking about her childhood in a clip from her Outsider show.
The channel holds at 600,000 subscribers, and its daily views are running a touch above usual. Among stand-up channels of a similar size it was a calm week. Denny love was the one gaining subscribers fast, and Phil Hanley drew the biggest crowds. For Universal Comedy, the Gervais archive did the work.
