Ben Bankas asks 'Who runs the world?' and viewers talk accents and a fraudulent bank
His newest short follows another question-shaped title from the week before, and its comment section has settled on one phrase about the United States.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 103,104 views a day, 6.4 times a normal first day on this channel (16,134).

Who runs the world? Ben Bankas puts the question in the title of his newest short and leaves the answer for the clip itself. In the comments, one phrase has stuck: a description of the United States as a fraudulent bank. A viewer who repeated it and agreed with it started the longest thread of replies under the video.
The short went up on October 5. Thirteen hours later it had close to 75,000 views, on a channel where a new upload usually ends its whole first day near 16,000. It is the second time in a week that a Bankas title phrased as a question has done this. "You know whose fault it is?", posted on September 29, has gone further still.
The other talk is about delivery. The most liked comment calls him a master of accents, and another says he always has the receipts, which sounds like praise for a comedian who backs his jokes with details. A Canadian touch got noticed too: one viewer simply calls him a real Canuck.
Crowd work is the rest of his week. "Border Patrol Love" came out on September 30, a set tagged, like most of his longer uploads, for the back-and-forth he does with audiences. Not everyone enjoys that side of him. One commenter writes that they like him best when he isn't picking on fans in the crowd. Those crowds keep coming: the channel's about text says he is touring the USA and Canada, and tickets for his 2027 dates went on sale on October 1.
