A whale shark, coral keepers and the Georgia Aquarium: CNN10 takes a field trip
Friday's special edition went behind the scenes in Atlanta, closing a week of pandas from China, a Crocs lawsuit and the winner of Fat Bear Week.

CNN10 Special Edition: Dive behind the scenes at one of the world's largest aquariums
CNN10 usually lives on a strict ten-minute diet of the day's news. On Friday it set the headlines aside and went to the Georgia Aquarium, a short drive from CNN's Atlanta home, for a special edition about the people who care for its corals and feed its whale shark. The aquarium is one of the few in the world that keeps whale sharks, the largest fish alive, so the field trip had a natural star.
That special drew the strongest first day of the week's uploads, and two days on it is still gathering views well ahead of the daily episodes around it.
Those dailies covered a lot of ground. Monday toured Washington for five elections that shaped American history and found the first wild sea turtle nest ever discovered on the West Coast. Tuesday brought two giant pandas on loan from China, headed for Zoo Atlanta, alongside SpaceX's latest test flight. Wednesday paired Dr. Sanjay Gupta's decision about a cancer-detecting blood test with Crocs suing a discount store over lookalike clogs, and a new youngest female grandmaster. Thursday followed a CNN investigation into a closed roller coaster and announced the Fat Bear Week winner from Katmai.
The comments under the panda episode read like a roll call of classrooms: fifth graders in Michigan, a creative writing class in California, a grade 7 group in Ontario, each hoping anchor Coy Wire reads their school out at the end of an episode.
Overall, the channel held close to its usual pace, about 900,000 views across the week, while several larger news channels in its group ran well below their norm.
