Adam West's last Batman takes on William Shatner's Two-Face

A clip from 2017's Batman vs. Two-Face, with Burt Ward and Julie Newmar back beside West, led three new uploads on Warner Bros.' heroes-and-villains clips channel.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Three uploads, and the newest carried them. ClipZone: Heroes & Villains, the Warner Bros. clips channel that promises everything from Wonder Woman to the Joker, posted the final showdown from Batman vs. Two-Face, the 2017 animated film that brought the 1960s TV cast back together. Adam West voices Batman, Burt Ward is Robin, Julie Newmar returns as Catwoman, and William Shatner plays Harvey Dent, the district attorney turned Two-Face when a machine meant to remove evil from criminal minds goes wrong. It was West's last turn as the Caped Crusader; he died in 2017, before the film came out.

The comments read like a small memorial. Several viewers simply say they miss West, one works Shatner's Star Trek past into Harvey Dent's name, and another calls it a favorite Batman film.

Earlier in the week came a Batman Ninja scene, with Batman meeting Lord Joker in feudal Japan, and a Catwoman short built on Halle Berry's 2004 film. Neither moved far.

The channel's real engine sits in Middle-earth. Bilbo and the dwarves fleeing Goblin Town in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is three weeks old, past a million views and still pulling far more each day than anything else here. A nine-day-old Superman IV clip, where Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor meets his Nuclear Man, keeps company with the Two-Face fight.

Overall the channel ran a touch above its usual pace and added about 10,000 subscribers. Among similar movie clips channels it was third for views over the week, though CineSavvy and azan each gathered more than fifty million, a different scale entirely.
