One 'teddy bear' in Mark Wahlberg's Boston accent, and Mila Kunis can't keep a straight face
The Ted short leads a day of breaking-on-set clips at Eggdar, and its comments have turned into a pronunciation class.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 4,438,867 views a day, 12 times a normal first day on this channel (387,096).
Mark Wahlberg Saying “Teddy Bear” Had Mila Kunis Breaking for 30 Minutes 😭 | Ted (2012)
Eggdar spent Saturday on actors cracking up mid-take, and the clip that traveled farthest turns on two words. In "Mark Wahlberg Saying “Teddy Bear” Had Mila Kunis Breaking for 30 Minutes 😭 | Ted (2012)", Wahlberg says the name of his co-star's plush rival the way a Bostonian would, and Kunis, according to the title, could not recover for half an hour. The short passed four million views in its first 19 hours. A new upload here usually ends its first day with a few hundred thousand.
The accent belongs in the film. Seth MacFarlane, who directed Ted and voices the bear, set the story in Boston, and Wahlberg grew up in the city's Dorchester neighborhood. Kunis has worked with MacFarlane for years: she has voiced Meg Griffin on his Family Guy since 1999.
The comments came in about four times faster than on a usual first day, and they are a lesson in vowels. Many viewers argue that Kunis's attempt at the word is the funnier one, and they spell out both versions to prove it. Others try the same trick with "gummy bear." Several point to the 911 call around the moment. A few from Massachusetts admit they never noticed anything odd about the line.
The rest of the day kept to the same theme. A short on Will Ferrell's secret trick for making Jimmy Fallon break on SNL came close to three million views. An Anchorman clip about Luke Wilson's prosthetic arm and a big moment for Tim Robbins passed a million. A second Ted clip, with Kunis in a fake car chase, started more quietly. For a channel whose about page promises moments that deserve a second look, Saturday was a blooper reel.
