A hearing child’s life in a deaf family draws France’s biggest audience
TF1 INFO’s portrait of a girl who is the only hearing person in her family was the most-watched report. A deadly train collision in Spain and a dispute over Sarah Knafo’s treatment on Franceinfo also drew attention.
Bridging two worlds
Spain’s rail disaster
- TF1 INFO reported at least 68 deaths in a collision between high-speed trains near Urda. Survivors described helping others escape, while families searched for missing relatives.
- A follow-up examined recordings of exchanges between controllers and drivers, highlighting a disputed authorization to resume normal speed. TF1 also reported that several French nationals remained unaccounted for.
An interview under fire
- On Europe 1, panelists criticized Franceinfo’s questioning of Reconquête MEP Sarah Knafo about an attack in Trappes. Lawyer Pascal-Pierre Garbarini compared the tone to police questioning.
- In a separate Europe 1 broadcast, host Pascal Praud called the interviewers “far-left activists.” A caller criticized the interview but also challenged Praud.
