Patches, not new clothes: Clara remembers her mother's mending
The week's one upload is a short memory of Depression-era thrift, filmed years before her death in 2013 and shared again by her family.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Clara Cannucciari's newest video is barely a recipe at all. In "Home spun fixes during the Great Depression," she leaves the stove for a moment to remember how her mother mended the family's clothes instead of buying new ones, one sewn-on patch at a time.
The channel is a family archive. Clara's grandson, the filmmaker Christopher Cannucciari, filmed her between 2007 and 2012, starting when she was 91, and she died in 2013. Every new upload is a piece of that footage brought back out. This one passed 8,000 views in four days, and it is by far the busiest thing on the channel right now. Next in line are the eulogy Christopher posted on the tenth anniversary of her death and a 2010 espresso session, in which Clara shows the sweet froth she whipped up for her stovetop pot.
The comments read like a guestbook. Many simply say good morning to her or thank the family for continuing to share her. Others pass along their own family stories of making do, including a friend's mother who unraveled and reknit sweaters as he grew. Several viewers bring up a teacher who made young Clara show her patch to the class, and others keep repeating her dry verdict on whether today's kids would have survived those years.
The channel as a whole moved at about half its usual daily pace this week. Among cooking channels of a similar size, ahnestkitchen and Jack's Dining Room drew by far the biggest crowds, while Clara's kitchen stays what it has always been: a quieter place where the stories matter as much as the food.
