Two fairs down this week, one to go. LATRYGUY and his cousin are deep into a five-part tour of American state fairs, and the week carried them from New England to Oklahoma with a cheap detour in between.
Part three landed at The Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts, the fair that gathers all six New England states into one event. The menu ran from the famous Big E cream puff to a lobster corn dog, a clam chowder bowl and the Craz-E Burger, a bacon cheeseburger served between two glazed donuts. The chapters also walk the Avenue of the States, one regional bite per state, from Connecticut's lobster roll to Massachusetts whoopie pies. Not everything got a pass: the chapter list labels a chocolate cookie bucket "HORRIBLE." In the comments, viewers keep coming back to an unimpressed beer server, to a moment around the 25-minute mark when the pricey donut burger did not hold together, and to the cousin, who many suspect will agree with whatever Alex says. One viewer even answered an on-camera question about where The Simpsons' Springfield comes from.
On the drive into Oklahoma City, a neon sign promising $1.99 Chinese food was enough to stop the car, and that video drew more than 120,000 views on its first day. Then came part four at the Oklahoma State Fair: Indian tacos on fry bread, skillet cinnamon rolls, a brisket biscuit and something billed as Hot Honey Chicken Lemonade. Half a day after it went up, it was already past 100,000 views and moving faster than anything else on the channel.
The channel as a whole is running a little below its usual daily pace. Among food channels of about the same size, ahnestkitchen and Jack's Dining Room are pulling the biggest daily crowds, and More Aj is ahead of its own usual pace.
