A secret ending starring a dog is the kind of find this channel was built for. The Easter Egg Hunter, the England-born creator now based in Perth, Western Australia, posted nothing new over the week, and the video viewers kept opening was his guide to unlocking the Secret Dog Ending in Silent Hill Townfall.
At two weeks old it is closing in on 20,000 views. It is also gathering them about three times faster than anything else on the channel. The joke has deep roots: Silent Hill has hidden a dog behind its curtain since the very first game in 1999, where a shiba inu turns out to be pulling the strings, and the series has kept the gag alive ever since.
Behind it, two older roundups keep ticking along. One collects the year's strangest secrets, from an out-of-bounds find in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune to Death Stranding 2 and High on Life 2. The other, about Easter eggs that can no longer be seen, includes the hidden NES Golf on the Switch, remembered as a tribute to Satoru Iwata, and is past 100,000 views.
Without a new upload, the channel ran a little under its usual daily pace, and subscribers held at 481,000. Among the gaming commentary channels around its size, nearly everyone had a slower stretch too, with Jake Baldino and GameLinked well below their usual, while Retro Jakes had by far the biggest week of the group. The channel itself has now quietly passed 100 million total views.
