Halo in a browser and a PS5 Pro lottery fill GameLinked's slow week
Three episodes went up, and the one called "Oh this isn't good" passed 200,000 views with a rotating cast of hosts that viewers keep talking about.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Oh this isn't good
"Oh this isn't good" is the episode that carried GameLinked, the gaming news channel from Linus Media Group, through its week. As we reported here, it opens on the worry that the EU Kids Act could undercut the Stop Killing Games campaign. The rest of its nine minutes turns lighter: a crackdown on virtual currencies, PS5 jailbreak progress, Xbox Disc to Digital going live, a PS5 Pro lottery from Sony Japan, AI-built Minecraft crossover mods and a Sony patent for an NFC DualSense.
It has now passed 200,000 views, and its comments are as much about the people as the news. Many viewers enjoyed the mix of hosts, calling it an unofficial meet-the-team episode, and one regular's voice heard from behind the camera caught several people off guard. The maker of the Halo: Combat Evolved browser demo showed up to say thanks for the mention.
That Halo port got a short of its own, "Halo: Combat Evolved in a BROWSER?!", which is still picking up viewers. "RIP Halo (Activision Has It Now)", posted the day before, has gone quiet. Two weeks on, "please, buy this Game", the episode covering Control Resonant's launch and Halo's move to Activision, is still drawing a steady stream.
Otherwise the channel is running far below its usual pace and dipped by about a thousand subscribers. That puts it mid-table among gaming news channels its size, where Mortismal Gaming had the biggest week and Maka91Productions was the one running above its norm.
