Jake Tapper, Kevin O'Leary and Oprah: fifteen political shorts on a comedians' clips channel

The about page promises Chris D'Elia, Bobby Lee and Brendan Schaub, but the week's uploads were almost all Washington and Sacramento.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Rogan Shorts introduces itself as a home for funny clips of comedians, naming Chris D'Elia, Bryan Callen, Bobby Lee and Brendan Schaub. The fifteen uploads it posted over the past seven days told a different story: nearly every one was a political short, most of them framed as Joe Rogan reacting to someone else's moment on camera.

The cast was a cable-news lineup. Kevin O'Leary defending Trump opened the run, followed by Jesse Watters on Lindsey Graham and a short on backlash aimed at Oprah. JD Vance appeared twice: "Joe Rogan Reacts to JD Vance DESTROYING Jake Tapper" became the week's most watched upload, close to 100,000 views, and a second Vance short about a reporter is gathering views faster than anything else on the channel. One clip, "Steve Hilton EXPOSES Gavin Newsom," carries no Rogan in its title at all, a sign of how far the channel has drifted toward the campaign trail in California.

The channel as a whole ran slower than usual, at a bit more than half its normal daily pace, and its count stayed at 1.05 million subscribers. Over seven days it added about 2.3 million views, which puts it in the middle of the political commentary channels nearest its size. RattlesnakeTV and Heather Cox Richardson had the busier weeks there, while J.J. McCullough was among the quieter ones.
