Katie Britt's questions for Jack Smith fill TYT Investigates' comment section
The clip of the Alabama senator and the former special counsel drew more comments on its first day than the channel's regular videos usually gather many times over.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 78,281 views a day, 15 times a normal first day on this channel (5,156).
Katie Britt LOSES IT After Jack Smith REBUKES Her Smears
Twenty-eight hours after TYT Investigates posted it, the Katie Britt clip had passed 90,000 views. A regular video on the channel usually ends its first day with about 5,000.
The title does not hold back: "Katie Britt LOSES IT After Jack Smith REBUKES Her Smears." The description is plainer. It says Smith sparred with the Republican senator from Alabama during a Senate hearing exchange. TYT Investigates is the clips arm of The Young Turks, the progressive network, and it cuts hearings and briefings into short pieces. This is not the first time it has gone back to Jack Smith's appearance. A clip of his one sentence about the law carried the channel past 100,000 views earlier this week, as we reported here.
The comments came in about 78 times faster than on a usual first day. Much of the conversation is about how the exchange worked: many viewers say the questions left little room for Smith to answer, and a few quote back one of his short denials. Others drift to subjects the clip never touches, such as the Epstein files.
The rest of the channel's lineup kept to its usual pace. A Richard Blumenthal clip on Trump nominees and a fresh one of Rep. Maxwell Frost questioning a witness on homelessness drew far smaller crowds.
