Can a convert be trusted? Marjorie Taylor Greene's MAGA 'cult' line on Tennessee Brando

Four days after it went up, the commentary video has passed 100,000 views, and its comment section keeps asking what is behind her turn.

Why this story? The video is running at 76,489 views a day, 17 times its usual pace (4,413).

MTG Finally Admits ItMTG Finally Admits It

What did Marjorie Taylor Greene finally admit? The description under Tennessee Brando's video answers in one short line: MTG, it says, calls MAGA a cult. Coming from the Georgia Republican who spent years as one of Donald Trump's loudest allies in the House, before their public falling-out in late 2025, it was the kind of line Brando was always going to pick up. He bills himself as a social commentator, singer-songwriter and MeidasTouch contributor, and he tags his videos with words like "red state voter" and "Appalachia."

As we reported here, the video started slowly. On its fourth day it has not let up. It passed 100,000 views and drew roughly fourteen times as many in its latest day as it did in its first. Brando's channel as a whole is having an ordinary day, which means this one video is carrying close to half of it. Most of its comments have come in during that same stretch.

Those comments circle one question: can someone who helped build a movement be believed once she turns on it? The most liked replies hold back their trust, and several reach for comparisons, naming Michael Cohen, Trump's former lawyer turned critic, and Tucker Carlson. Others wonder whether her break with Trump, more than any change of heart, is what moved her.

It sits in a busy run for Brando. In the days since, he has posted on leaked Ken Paxton audio, a Pete Hegseth speech, MAGA influencers and a Cornell case, and Zohran Mamdani's sit-down with Theo Von on This Past Weekend. None of them has come close to the MTG video.
