"HOW BOYS TREAT GIRLS BASED ON THEIR AGE" is the newest short from Phoebe, the British creator behind phoebeisginger, and it follows one kind of behavior through the years. Viewers describe it as starting with kindergarten excuses and ending in a midlife crisis. Along the way there is the twelve-year-old who stutters when a girl talks to him, and a last stage that, as one commenter sums it up, is a man reminding you to drink water and get some sleep.

It passed 960,000 views in its first twelve hours. Her shorts usually end their whole first day at around 120,000. The comments arrived even faster. In half a day the short collected almost four times the comments her shorts usually gather in a full day.

Most of that talk is about two old lines: the one that tells a girl a boy is mean to her because he likes her, and "boys will be boys." Several viewers describe being teased at school over their weight and hearing adults wave it off. A few men in the thread apologize to the people who went through it. Others point out that it happens the other way around too, and one parent writes about what she plans to teach her own son and daughter.

Girls versus boys is a regular subject on this channel. Her short on clothing for young girls and young boys, posted last Sunday, picked up speed again on the same day, alongside a newer one on Halloween costumes and another titled "ITS NOT ALL MEN…". Between them she posts lighter shorts, such as the US vs UK word swaps that took off yesterday, as we reported here, and a conker "nature blind box" that is climbing again too. Over the past seven days the channel added 26,000 subscribers and now has 413,000.

Phoebe often swaps British and American words. What do Americans call what the British call a "lorry"?
