A filter that was never on catches Sam in Brooke Monk's 'Would you do this?'

"Would you do this?" is a three-word title that gives nothing away, so the comment section has done the explaining. The joke, as viewers describe it, is a filter. Sam, who appears in many of Brooke Monk's shorts, reacts to an effect he thinks is on the screen, and then it turns out the filter was never switched on. The moment most commenters write about is his face as the truth slowly sinks in.

Several viewers also hear something familiar under the prank: the theme from K.C. Undercover, the Disney Channel spy comedy that starred Zendaya. A few admit they kept the short playing for the song as much as for the punchline.

The short went up on October 2 and drew roughly a million and a half views in its first day, more than twenty times what a new Brooke Monk short usually opens with. It is her second short with Sam to pass a million in two days, after "Swapped," where the two traded looks, as we reported here.

She did not slow down on Saturday either. Three more shorts, "Wait for it…", "Has this ever happened to you?" and "Has this happened to you?", each opened at about six times her usual pace, giving her a run of quick, teasing titles that are all doing the same thing: getting people to tap and find out.
