Two uploads, two moods. Linda Sun spent the week between race prep and a long talk with her mother, and the two videos have very different jobs.

The first is a short on how she carb loads before an Ironman 70.3, the half-distance triathlon of a 1.9-kilometer swim, a 90-kilometer bike ride and a half marathon. The emoji in the title give away the menu: rice, bagels, salt and an orange. Five days in, it has passed 380,000 views. It fits a channel whose about text lists fitness and eating lots of food, in that order and then once more.

The second is a longer, softer piece about a mother-daughter trip, with growing up and leaving home in its title. The chapters do much of the telling. They start with bagels and bubbles, then move to her mom, a rough patch, love, marriage and kids, what she calls the mom lottery, and a section on her grandma. Two of the stops are Vancouver food: the description names a Thai spot on Granville for its yellow curry and pad see ew, and Breka Bakery. Nearly two days old, it is gathering views almost as quickly as the short.

Her marathon-training what-I-eat-in-a-day from two weeks ago, a Samsung partnership, sits past six million views. The channel overall is running somewhat below its usual daily pace. Among the fitness channels near her size, The Fashion Jogger is having the big week, at nearly double its usual daily views, while SarahBethYoga and Frank Medrano are right on theirs.
