The clip from episode 234 of Club Shay Shay picks up the debate the two men carried for years on Undisputed, the FS1 show they launched together in 2016. Bayless calls LeBron a poor shooter by superstar standards and says that sinks Sharpe's whole case. Sharpe's reply is that LeBron still shoots better from three than Michael Jordan did. Neither moves an inch. In its first day the clip drew about 370,000 views, roughly ten times a usual first day on Sharpe's channel.
It was one of several pieces cut from the same sit-down, and they all ran well ahead of normal. A reaction to their viral "Put Your Glasses Back On!" moment did nearly as well, posted twice in two days. A clip billed as the two finally explaining why Undisputed really ended had a strong start too. Together they pushed the channel's daily views to more than double their usual level. The quieter clips are a different side of the reunion: Bayless telling Sharpe he missed sitting across from him, and Sharpe being called out over Russell Westbrook's Hall of Fame case.
The comments read like a class reunion. Viewers say it feels like 2017 again, bring back Sharpe's old "Don't do that, Skip," and enjoy Bayless reminding him he was already convinced back in 2016. Many ask for one more chair at the table, for Stephen A. Smith. Others simply ask for this once a month.
