An Oscar winner, horse facts and vegan cookies: Mikey Madison does Hot Ones
The Anora star's episode is on course for about fifty times First We Feast's usual first day, as three other Hot Ones spin-offs crossed a million views beside it.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 1,104,458 views a day, 50 times a normal first day on this channel (21,855).
Mikey Madison Reckons with Spicy Wings | Hot Ones
Mikey Madison drew a crowd. Thirteen hours after her Hot Ones episode went up, it had passed 800,000 views. That puts it on pace for about fifty times what a new First We Feast video usually gathers in its first day.
Madison comes to the table as the Academy Award winner for Anora, Sean Baker's film in which she played the title role. Before that she spent five seasons on Pamela Adlon's FX series Better Things. The timing has a reason. She plays the whistleblower Frances Haugen in Aaron Sorkin's The Social Reckoning, which the description says reaches theaters October 9. Across from Sean Evans, the conversation runs through classic cinema, obscure facts about horses and the key to vegan chocolate chip cookies. The cookies also got a short of their own.
For a show built on pain, the comment section is unusually gentle. Much of the talk is about her voice, soft enough that some viewers would hire her as an ASMR narrator. Others are watching the wings. They note that she felt the first one and then got through the rest, and her composure in front of Da Bomb, the sauce that has undone so many guests, earns its own praise. A few point out how far the easygoing guest is from Anora's Ani, some bring up her part in Scream, and longtime Better Things viewers use the moment to recommend the show.
The rest of the channel's day was busy, too. Doctor Mike's Hot Ones Game Night premiere, as we reported here, has passed a million views, and a short of him calling The Pitt the most accurate medical show ran well ahead of a usual first day. Fuerza Regida's round of Wing Pong and Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman's Hot Ones Versus each crossed a million as well.
