Green and gold for Link's 40th: Karl Conrad unboxes the Zelda Switch 2

The limited console arrives with a gold holofoil game, a matching Pro Controller and Ocarina of Time amiibo of Link and Zelda.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Karl Conrad put four videos out over the week: headphones, a pair of very large tablets, a Zelda console and his everyday bag.

The Zelda one drew the most viewers. Nintendo's limited Switch 2 for The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary comes trimmed in green and gold. In the box Karl finds a physical copy of the game in gold holofoil, a Pro Controller in the same anniversary dress, and amiibo of Link and Zelda as they looked in Ocarina of Time, the 1998 game many fans still hold above the rest. The comments are full of people who played it as kids, a few who already have their preorders in, and one pointed question about whether an unboxing should come with a box. Someone thinks the gold looks more yellow. Another is hoping for a Majora's Mask edition next.

The second-biggest upload is his updated tech carry, built around the iPhone 18 Pro Max. It started faster than the Zelda video, close to 30,000 views on its first day. Behind both, his Apple Watch Ultra 4 unboxing, now a little over two weeks old, is still gathering a few thousand views a day.

The channel as a whole ran somewhat below its usual daily pace, and the subscriber count held at just over a million. Even so, among the tech channels nearest his size, Karl gathered the second most views of the week, a little over four million. Digital Doctor was far out in front, and Hugh Jeffreys ran well above his own normal pace.
