Guessing Apple's numbers keeps the MKBHD Studio busy between uploads
The Studio's game built around Apple's September event has passed four and a half million views at three weeks old, with nothing new posted since.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Apple Event Guess The Number
Among the tech channels closest to its size, The Studio drew the second most views of the week, close to five million, behind only Digital Doctor, which had another enormous week of its own. Everyone else nearby, from iFixit to Max Tech and Snazzy Labs, ran somewhat below their usual pace, and The Studio did too, just a little.
That came without a single new upload. The Studio is the second channel of Marques Brownlee's MKBHD team, the place for behind-the-scenes videos, event reactions and challenges, and right now an event game is doing the work. "Apple Event Guess The Number" turns Apple's keynote habit of big stats and bigger claims into a guessing contest for the crew. Rich Ho and Eric Villa shot and edited it, Ellis Rovin handled the audio, and Tim McMahon and Michael Emerick made the graphics. At 22 days old it still gathers about twice as many views a day as anything else on the channel.
Behind it sit two confessions about gadgets. "Tech We Won't Use!" is barely two and a half weeks old, while "The WORST Tech We Can’t Give Up," posted in early summer, has gone past ten million views and keeps adding more. Maybe a list of beloved bad tech never quite goes out of date.
