8 Hour Tentacle Rave | Reign of the Black Empire | Hearthstone
Old Gods, new beat. Hearthstone opened the countdown to Reign of the Black Empire with "8 Hour Tentacle Rave," a full working day of music summoned, as the description puts it, from the depths of the Black Empire. It is the most watched of the week's four uploads, and the comments read like a lore discussion with a dance floor attached. One popular theory holds that the Old Gods see all truths, and one of those truths is dropping sick beats. Others have picked a favorite track (a Demon Hunter remix gets a mention), and at least one listener wants to know who made eight hours of this.
The Black Empire is a deep cut of Warcraft lore: the ancient realm of the Old Gods, C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, N'Zoth and Y'Shaarj, who ruled Azeroth long before the Titans arrived. Hearthstone last went this far into the void with Whispers of the Old Gods in 2016.
The quieter upload may matter more to regular players. In "Behind the Scenes: The Journey," developers Alicia Cornelia, Ryan Hickman, Dez Bencosme and Clay Howell explain the new system replacing the Journal, which gathers quests, events and modes in one place and begins on October 13. The description also teases a 2v2 Tavern Brawl.
The freshest clip, "⚔️ Battle for the Fate of Azeroth!", about an event with cards as rewards, is drawing the most views per day right now, while two-week-old reveals for Rajh, a sun-powered hero, and a Warrior armor package keep finding players.
Overall the channel is running well below its usual daily pace, as are most publisher channels near its size, including Diablo and Blizzard Entertainment's main channel. Total War is the exception, steady at its normal and busy level. Still, Hearthstone gathered more than 400,000 views over the week, third among the nine channels in the group, and subscribers held at about 498,000.

What viewers say
I like to think this sort of thing actually happened often in the Black Empire. The Old Gods/Void see "all truths," and one such truth is dropping sick beats.
