Shadow priests ask for more as World of Warcraft: Forever's class tour ends

The Druid, Warlock and Priest finale of Blizzard's Class Highlights series had a lively comment section within hours, and one spec dominated the conversation.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 482,482 views a day, 14 times a normal first day on this channel (34,569).

Class Highlights - Part 3: Druid, Warlock, Priest | World of Warcraft: ForeverClass Highlights - Part 3: Druid, Warlock, Priest | World of Warcraft: Forever

Blizzard has closed its Class Highlights series for World of Warcraft: Forever, the new version of the game now in beta, with a third part covering Druids, Warlocks and Priests. The tour opened strongly last week, as we reported here, and the finale kept up the pace. It passed a quarter of a million views ten hours after going up, on a channel where a regular video usually ends its first day far lower.

The video runs about seven minutes. The Druid gets close to three of them, the Warlock a little over two and the Priest under two, for all three of its specs. One Druid change earned a short of its own the same day: shapeshifted Druids can now drink potions.

Most of the reaction landed on the Priest section. In ten hours the video had drawn almost as many comments as a usual full first day, and nearly every popular one comes from a Shadow Priest player. Their requests are specific. They want another regular spell or damage-over-time effect to round out the rotation, a shorter cooldown on Devouring Plague than the current minute, and more reason to bring the spec to a raid. Several point out that the new Shadowform never came up, and one says the segment filled its time with Discipline talents.

Sharp-eyed viewers also spotted a tooltip at 5:46 that gave Penance a twelve-minute cooldown, and a correction in the comments says the real figure is twelve seconds. Druid players have a smaller thread of their own about power shifting returning for Feral, and some of them would rather keep Tiger's Fury.

Two days earlier the channel introduced the Skyborne, a new race of High Elven exiles who fled Kalimdor under the protection of wind spirits. That lore video has passed 150,000 views.
