Unlimited gravy in Oklahoma: Gary Eats finds one of the last KFC buffets

Days earlier he filled an empty Folkestone chippy with 100 customers, after a hotel fire nearby had left it struggling.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Gary flew roughly 5,000 miles for a plate of fried chicken. His destination was Oklahoma, home to one of the last KFC buffets still operating anywhere, a format that, as his description notes, does not exist in the UK at all. The video passed half a million views in three days and is gathering viewers far faster than anything else on the channel.

The comment section is mostly about the people behind the counter. One exchange in particular keeps coming up: Gary calls the gravy liquid gold and the manager hears something closer to "liquid goat". Plenty of viewers say the staff were a delight. Others trade memories of KFC in the 1980s and 1990s, and a few pass along Colonel Sanders trivia of their own. Several are simply amused that someone would cross an ocean for bottomless gravy.

The week's other upload stayed at home. At the Harbour Fish Bar in Folkestone, a fire at a local hotel had left the chippy short of trade, so Gary turned up with 100 customers. That one has also passed half a million views. A fish and chips shop run out of someone's living room, from the week before, is still drawing a steady crowd too.

The whole channel is running well above its usual daily pace, with about 2,000 new subscribers over the seven days. Among food channels of a similar size, Alpine Butcher and Ryantagcoffee had the biggest weeks. Sarah's Vegan Kitchen and Peebs were among the calmer ones.
