Spurs in the relegation zone, United up next: Augeyboyz's 'El Trashico' week
A Tottenham joke from the start of the week has nearly 300,000 views, and a Friday short on Manchester City's long-running case followed it.
AugeyboyzStory of Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
What would the Premier League do without Tottenham?! 🤣
Among the football channels nearest its size, Augeyboyz drew the third most views of the week, about 12 million, behind the clip-heavy Proballerf and BallBlitz. Its pace has slowed from what it usually manages, though, and the subscriber count sat still at 1.17 million.
Only two new shorts went up, both built from the channel's familiar mix of football footage and comic subtitles. The first, "What would the Premier League do without Tottenham?! 🤣", leans on Spurs sitting 17th, with tags pointing to Roberto De Zerbi, Michael Carrick and a coming Manchester United vs. Tottenham game. The comments turned that fixture into an event of its own: one viewer christened it El Trashico, and plenty of United supporters fret that they will be the ones to hand Tottenham a first win. A few Spurs fans admit they laughed too. One viewer even gives the subtitles credit as the best thing about the channel.
Friday brought "Will Man City EVER be PUNISHED?! 😅🚨😴", a jab at the club's drawn-out financial case, which is now the fastest-moving video on the channel.
Older transfer jokes keep ticking along behind it. A two-month-old short on Chelsea's new transfer plan has passed six million views, and the question of whether United overpaid for Carlos Baleba is still finding viewers six weeks on.
