Waffles, AA batteries and a Halloween spider: Amazon counts down to Prime Big Deal Days

Ten short #amazonfinds clips went up, each one borrowed from a TikTok or Instagram creator and credited in its description.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the technology and software channels closest to it in size, Amazon's own channel gathered the fewest views of the week, a little over 50,000, while Android had a very big week at several times its usual pace. That is less of a puzzle than it sounds. The company that sells nearly everything uses this channel for something small: short clips of products in other people's homes.

Ten of them went up in seven days, all under the #amazonfinds tag, and each one credits the creator who filmed it, mostly TikTok accounts. A drawer for every battery except the AAs, a lighted mirror, a jewelry case for every little sparkle, fall casseroles packed for the road, a watch party set up for football Sundays.

The most watched of them is the one with a date in it. A golden waffle short from Wednesday announces Prime Big Deal Days for October 6 and 7, and it started slowly before picking up, so it is still gathering more each day than anything else from the week. Only two even newer clips move faster right now: a lounging setup, a day old, and a crafty spider for Halloween decorating.

The channel ran a little below its usual daily pace, and its subscriber count held steady at just over a million. For a feed of borrowed clips from strangers' kitchens, the waffle with a sale date attached was the one that carried the week.
