From a Raspberry Pi to eight H100s: Tina Huang runs every size of local AI
The 24-minute tour passed half a million views in five days, with a quiz at each end and a personal health coach called LifeBot following a day later.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Every Size Local AI In 24 Minutes
"Every Size Local AI In 24 Minutes" does what its title says, more or less. On Tina Huang's channel, the ex-Meta data scientist runs AI models on every size of hardware she could find, starting with chips and a Raspberry Pi, moving through an iPhone 16, personal computers and home servers like a Mac Studio, and ending on serious GPUs: an RTX 4090, then racks of eight H100s. Two quizzes break it up, in the same 24-minute format her Obsidian video used a couple of weeks earlier.
It went up on September 28 and is closing in on 600,000 views. The comments read like a hardware help desk. Several viewers say this finally explained what a phrase like "so many billion parameters" means for the machine on their desk, one is using it to decide what to buy, and a few are already asking for a second part. Another viewer stepped in with a correction: the Raspberry Pi 5 does have a GPU, they write, just one too weak and poorly supported to help much.
The second upload is smaller and more personal. "AI Lifebot" introduces her own productivity and health coach, built on Hermes and fed her sleep, focus hours and steps. Its pitch fits a channel whose about page promises minimum effort: it is, she writes, the only tool that ever told her to do less.
The Obsidian video still draws a steady daily crowd, and the channel as a whole ran well above its usual pace, passing a million views over the week. Among the tech channels around her size, Android and Low Level had the loudest weeks, while Nate Herk's AI automation channel, close to her own subject, was busy too.
