A boy named Leo and a world of giants: Messi's cartoon gets its Disney teaser
Viewers spent the first hours comparing the young hero to a Five Nights at Freddy's character and asking someone to show it to IShowSpeed.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 117,653 views a day, 18 times a normal first day on this channel (6,397).
Messi and the Giants | Teaser Trailer
Who is Leo, and why is he running from giants? He is the 12-year-old hero of Messi and the Giants, an animated sports-fantasy series with Lionel Messi as executive producer. In it, Leo gets trapped in an alternate reality ruled by giants. The hero shares Messi's own nickname, and the series is due on Disney+ in summer 2027, so this teaser is a very early look.
It found its audience fast. Within 14 hours, "Messi and the Giants | Teaser Trailer" was near 90,000 views. A new short on Disney's main channel usually ends its whole first day around 6,000. The same two days brought a Frozen 2 making-of episode and a ten-hour Villains fireside for spooky season, and neither came close.
The comment section moved even faster, with about thirty times the replies of a usual first day. Much of it is a running joke about IShowSpeed, the streamer famous for his devotion to Cristiano Ronaldo. Commenters keep calling for someone to show him a cartoon built around Ronaldo's longtime counterpart. Others say the animated Leo looks like Gregory from Five Nights at Freddy's. Some joke that Messi got his own show before GTA 6 arrived. Several say the art style takes them back to 2000s morning cartoons and the Jetix era.
There is also a Spanish-language note from a viewer in Argentina, thanking Messi for bringing something new. One person wants the song.

For Disney's main channel, a teaser starting this quickly, a year and more before its release, stands well apart from its usual new uploads.
