Buhari is Nepali for daughter-in-law, and the serial's subtitle, "कथा चेलीकाे," calls it a daughter's story. Episode 299 went up on OSR Digital, the Kathmandu distributor's channel, on October 2. Fourteen hours later it had passed 900,000 views, on a channel where a regular video usually ends its whole first day below 60,000.

The comments moved even faster. More than 1,400 had arrived by then, about twenty times what a usual first day brings, and together they sketch the plot. Kamala, played by Anita Baiju, has been taken. The most liked replies want her found and want the people behind it punished, with Arjun named most often. Viewers also want Ram, played by Ramchandra Bohara, whose name heads the credits, to learn the whole truth, and they want Kamala to get her gold back. One wish keeps returning: Ram, Kamala and Muna (Prasana Karki) under one roof again. Around those demands runs a long roll call of people who say they never miss a week, some of them checking in after dinner.

The credits list a large cast, from Laxmi Giri as the mother to Deshbhakta Khanal as Bhim Prasad, and they name Dhungkharka, in Bethanchok Rural Municipality, as a location.

The channel had a busy release day around it. There was "Atom Bomb," a Marathi-language item song from Nikhil Upreti's film Acharya, which has been in cinemas since September 25, along with a new music video and two title announcements for a film called The Professional Guys. None of them came close. Two days after Juthe's Episode 269 took off, as we reported here, the channel's weekly family dramas are doing the heavy lifting again.
