The farm is there to keep the server's rocket supply stocked, while the rest of Festivale SMP goes hunting for Jimmy.

I Built The Ultimate Creeper Farm on Festivale SMP!!!
TheMythicalSausage built one thing this week, and he built it to look good. "I Built The Ultimate Creeper Farm on Festivale SMP!!!" is about rockets: the modded world runs on them for travel, and creepers supply the gunpowder. The description bills the result as highly efficient, with an AFK spot set on a custom sail boat that floats in the sky. Around the build, the server breaks into a manhunt, everyone racing to be the one who takes Jimmy down. That would be Jimmy Solidarity, whose channel shares the Festivale cast list with fWhip, LDShadowLady, Shubble, Joey Graceffa and more than a dozen others.
The boat has given the comments a project of their own. Viewers keep pitching names for it, from puns on Sausage to one inspired by its sunflower garlands, which a viewer says recall his Empires days. Others remember Luna the snail's disappearance and would like her to get a garden of her own. A couple of commenters also wish him a good vacation, which may explain why only one video went up.
The new episode passed 11,000 views in its first fourteen hours. Behind it, the barn build from nine days ago and the series opener from August keep picking up viewers who are catching up on Festivale.
Overall it was a slow week, with views running well under the channel's usual pace and the subscriber count unchanged. Among Minecraft creators of his size, TechyCraft and CashClips drew the big crowds, while his Festivale neighbor Shubble and impulseSV had weeks much like his.

In Minecraft, what do players craft rockets from to boost their flight with an elytra?
Firework rockets are crafted from paper and gunpowder, which is why a creeper farm keeps a flying server supplied.
