An ice bear, a stolen egg and the Backrooms: TechyCraft's five-video run

The Minecraft creator added 20,000 subscribers in seven days, and his Backrooms trip is gathering views faster than anything else he has up.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

TechyCraft's channel now sits past 185 million lifetime views, and the last stretch of that climb came from five new Minecraft videos in seven days. The channel's whole description is a single line, "I love to make people smile :)", and the week stuck to it: a poor-versus-rich treehouse build, an OP multiplicator, an egg heist and a trip into the Backrooms.

The most watched of them is "The Ice Bear... (Minecraft)", a horror-tinged outing that passed 700,000 views. The comments read like a list of timestamps. A bear arrives a little after the three-minute mark, and many viewers point to that moment and the jumpscare right after it. Others laugh about a delayed scream, Techy putting on a voice for a villager called Dave, a friend named Ashley meeting a quick end, and a last scene in which he stands alone, quite calmly, next to the bear. Emma and Sage are named as part of the crew.

The newest upload is the one moving fastest. "We Got Trapped in the BACKROOMS…" passed 300,000 views within its first sixteen hours, taking the endless yellow-carpeted rooms of internet folklore into Minecraft. "Steal an EGG In Minecraft...", two days older, is still drawing a big crowd too.

The channel as a whole is running somewhat above its usual daily pace. Among the Minecraft creators close to its size, TechyCraft gained the most views over the week, with CashClips also busy, while Tango Tek and Shubble ran quieter than usual.
