A Gorilla King takes over Dumb's 'Minecraft, but' short

Viewers in the comments say the ape belongs to Roblox, not Minecraft, and the short has already passed a busy few days of Ben 10, Long Horse and Verity.

Minecraft, but the GORILLA KING controls what I do! #shorts 🦫🟡

Dumb handed the controls to an ape. "Minecraft, but the GORILLA KING controls what I do!" is the newest short from the channel that calls itself home to "the coolest duck on YouTube," and a little over a day after going up it was close to 280,000 views. A new short here usually opens with fewer than 20,000.

The title follows one of the oldest formulas in Minecraft videos, the "Minecraft, but..." challenge, where one rule bends the whole game. The video's tags read like a catalogue of the genre: realistic physics, a circle the player cannot leave, a color that cannot be touched. This time the rule wears a crown, and whatever the king says goes.

The small comment section has caught one thing. Minecraft has no gorillas among its mobs, and the most liked reply points out that the Gorilla King comes from Roblox. A couple of others mention a Roblox game about stealing eggs.

The short closes a crowded few days for the channel. Since Thursday, Dumb has turned into Ben 10, gone looking for Long Horse "in real life" and held a TNT cannon contest for Aurora. Verity, the character who filled the channel's previous week as we reported here, came back in a short where every mention of her name makes someone younger. That one had been the strongest of the batch, and the Gorilla King has already gone well past it.
