Sod against plugs: The Lawn Care Nut's race to a nearly full lawn
Allyn's only upload of the week sets rolled sod beside grass plugs and asks how close the plugs can get in under three months.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Sod vs Grass Plugs - (ALMOST) Full Lawn in Under 3 Months
Two days old, and the only new video on The Lawn Care Nut is already doing nearly all of the channel's fresh work. "Sod vs Grass Plugs - (ALMOST) Full Lawn in Under 3 Months" puts the two classic ways of starting a lawn side by side, and the parenthesis in the title is honest: almost full, not quite.
The lawn people keep pointing at belongs to Jason. Several of the most liked comments simply check in on how his yard is coming along, and one viewer jokes that he is on his way to taking over the whole neighborhood. Others linger on the time-lapse of runners creeping sideways between plugs, ask whether ProVista plugs can patch a Floratam lawn, and want a plot of Cobalt St. Augustine on Allyn's new land. A few, like one viewer who laid an entire yard of sod with a shovel and a rake, mostly came to say how hard the sod crew works.
It fits a run of Florida St. Augustine videos for the self-described OG "lawntuber" based in Parrish. The Pastor's House project, with its spot leveling and plug patching, and a video on what turns grass yellow are both still drawing a steady trickle a few weeks on.
The channel as a whole held right at its usual pace, close to 260,000 views across the week, and the subscriber count sat still at 597,000. Among DIY and home channels of similar size, Beamish DIY and Kate_cleanhome are the ones having the loud weeks; The Lawn Care Nut sits fourth for views gained, ahead of Woodworking Guide and of Tim The Lawnmower Man's shorts channel, a fellow grass enthusiast in the same neighborhood of numbers.

Man during the day. Payed for it the next morning 😂😂😂
Took me a month but it was all done by me.
You will definitely respect them boys that lay sod ❤@lawn2learnSee it on YouTubeThree years ago I told Allyn that my neighbor had sodded (rye blend) and it looked so good compared to my seeded lawn. Last week I hit my lawn with Double Dark. It is so freaking green. My neighbor’s lawn looks pasty. Allyn said wait 3 years and my lawn will look better. He was right again!
