A GT500 that can't go far: Rob Ferretti's fuel-range complaint
The Shelby short followed a longer list of gripes after 1,500 miles and a trip to Nashville for Gotham Dream Cars.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
The Worst Thing about the GT500 is the Pitiful Fuel Range! #automobile #cartok #gt500 #shelby
"The Worst Thing about the GT500 is the Pitiful Fuel Range!" is a short from Rob Ferretti, the man behind the Super Speeders DVDs and the Gotham Dream Cars rental fleet, and it went up on Saturday as the end of a Shelby-heavy week. Two days earlier he had posted the longer version, "Here are my Problems with the GT500 After 1500 miles," and the short is the one with legs: a little over a day and a half after going up it had passed 36,000 views, well past either of its siblings.
The comment section has turned into an engineering meeting. Some viewers wonder why Ford did not fit a bigger tank, and others answer that a look under the car shows there is simply no room. Several point out that the range on the dash is an estimate built on how the last tank was driven, and that rental customers are not known for gentle driving. Plenty more simply swap their own numbers, from a GR Corolla to a supercharged Camaro on E85.
The week opened somewhere else entirely. "Here is the problem with the Exotic Car Rental Industry - Smoke and Mirrors!" follows the start of a Gotham Dream Cars expansion in Nashville, where, the description says, he found more smoke than substance.
Three uploads lifted the channel's daily views to several times its usual level, though the subscriber count slipped by about a thousand. Among car channels of similar size it was a modest week; George J Saliba's numbers dwarfed everyone's, and Real Mechanic Stuff and TheTopher kept busy too.

What viewers say
I doubt it was a weight consideration but probably a consideration of backseat room, or trunk space or something? Maybe?
@pierredelecto7069See it on YouTubeBe glad, my 1961 Buick had a 10 gallon gas tank and got 8 mpg. The truck was enormous though.
@BillDougan-f1oSee it on YouTubeMy GR Corolla is similar. If you drive really conservative you can squeak out just over 300 miles. You basically have to stay out of boost. Drive the car hard you maybe get 200 miles. But on the GR I get that just used a regular Corolla tank. Which is fine for a car that gets 30-40mpg.
