The rarest ZL1 hood, and a Camaro that seems to start by itself

FastLifeNick's Blackwing-swapped Camaro got its special hood early in the week and a new set of wheels on Sunday, both from the Dallas-area car creator's shop.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What does FastLifeNick do with a Camaro ZL1 once a Cadillac Blackwing engine is in it? He keeps dressing it up. Both of his uploads went to the same car: first a hood billed as the rarest one made for the ZL1, then a fresh set of wheels.

The hood video, posted on September 29, is past 420,000 views and is the week's most watched upload. Its comment section reads like a set of timestamps. Viewers point to the shop regulars who seem to appear out of nowhere around the five-minute mark, and to a moment near the 25-minute mark when the car fires up apparently on its own. Some joke that it needs an exorcist. Others say it is really Bumblebee from Transformers, a nod to the Transformers badge they remember it wearing when Nick bought it. A Spanish-speaking mechanic gets his own fan club too, along with requests for a tune and a plea for hour-long videos.

The wheels video went up on Sunday and moved fast, close to 100,000 views in its first seven hours. A nine-day-old donut competition with Bluereiign is still pulling in viewers alongside it.

The channel as a whole ran cooler than usual, adding about 1.4 million views and 4,000 subscribers. Among car channels of a similar size, that still put him third for views gained. ClawBoss and Jim's Automotive Machine Shop had the biggest weeks, while Autocar and Zip Tie Tuning were quieter.
