A Miller V16 boat cold start, and viewers waiting for the other engine
The clip, credited to @acbsboats, drew a comment section of torque talk, maintenance jokes and one Herman Munster reference.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 449,491 views a day, 15 times a normal first day on this channel (29,822).
Miller V16 Boat Cold Start! 😍
"Miller V16 Boat Cold Start!" is exactly what its title promises: a vintage powerboat, a huge engine and the moment it coughs into life. The footage is credited to @acbsboats. Supercar Blondie's short had passed 370,000 views sixteen hours after it went up, about fifteen times the pace of a usual first day for the channel's shorts.
The comments came in faster still, roughly eleven times the usual rate, and most of them are about one detail. Many viewers say only the right-hand side of the setup fires in the clip, and they want to hear what happens when the second engine joins in. Others count cylinders and carburetors. Several point at the start itself, saying the torque visibly rocks the whole hull in the water.
Not everyone is daydreaming about a ride. A popular reply calls the boat a maintenance nightmare, another wonders how quickly it would empty its tank, and one joke says the boat was built to carry the engine rather than the other way round.
Boats have had a good few days on the channel. The day before, a short about a rare US nuclear submarine went up, and it has since passed three quarters of a million views.
