The Fridge Cat 🐱

"The Fridge Cat 🐱" is a short about a cat with an unusual idea of a comfortable spot, and it went up on Reighar, the animated storytelling channel voiced by @twistedpinttavern. Inside its first day it passed half a million views, about ten times what a new short here usually draws.

The title promises the fridge, and the comments fill in the rest. Going by what viewers describe, this cat also has no quarrel with water and keeps a stuffed husky, and the audience has reached its own verdict: she is a cold-weather animal born into the wrong climate. Commenters have compared her to a seal, to a husky in disguise and to a RiverClan cat, the swimming, fish-eating clan from the Warriors novels.

The most liked thread turns half scientific, with viewers debating whether cats really dislike water itself or only its temperature. Several people call the cat Tali, which was enough for at least one Mass Effect joke about geth. The comments arrived about four times faster than on a usual first day here.

It was not the day's only standout. "How Medieval People Kept Time ⏳", posted alongside it, drew roughly six times the usual first-day crowd on its own. A cat in a fridge next to a lesson in medieval timekeeping is a fair picture of Reighar, whose other recent titles ask what dogs dream about and what Tumblr even is.
